A Flight through the Orchestra (2015) Blu-ray 1080i AVC DTS-HD 5.0-HDClub

勃拉姆斯-第二交响曲,演奏:柏林德意志交响乐团

Title: A Flight through the Orchestra
Released: 2015
Genre: Classical
Directed by: Henning Kasten
Conductor: Tugan Sokhiev
Artist: Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin

Description:

Ready for a new Brahms? This version of Brahms second symphony has been filmed in one long, continuous shot in each movement with the camera capturing the perspective of each musician and instrument. The completely new sound design enhances whichever instrument the camera is focusing upon at any given moment. The DVD offers an entirely new way of looking at and listening to a classical concert - A Flight through the Orchestra.

Classical music is sometimes confronted with the critique of only ever repeating the same Mozart and Beethoven concertos and symphonies over and over again - which begs the question: Why would we want another such concert, or another such recording? Simply because there is nothing 'samey' about this release: It is an all-new image concept, with the camera flying through the orchestra in a single shot, always moving along with where the music is, and getting closer to the musicians than ever before. It is an all-new audio concept, which slightly enhances whichever instrument the camera is focusing on at any given moment, so that the structure of the score really shines through the recording. And it is a very exceptional location, namely an old power station on the outskirts of Berlin that breathes the memory and imagery of Germany at the turn of the last century. Thus, watching a classical concert becomes an entirely new experience: You'll see more. You'll hear more. You'll feel like you're flying through the orchestra, always being exactly where the music is happening, with no cuts or edits to interrupt your experience.
